West Benhar is a 7 turbine wind farm capable of powering up to 18,000 homes located near Shotts in North Lanarkshire.

West Benhar wind farm was officially opened on 28 February 2024 by Scottish Government Minister for Energy, Just Transition and Fair Work, Gillian Martin alongside local children and community groups.

Community Benefit Fund

Around £150,000 per year, for the 30-year operational lifespan of the project, will be given to local projects and initiatives through a dedicated Community Benefit Fund. More details will be released on the Fund in due course.
